Our family needs lots of prayers right now......this is not an easy post for me to write but I appreciate you taking the time to read and appreciate your prayers & support for our family.
My father-in-law, Robert, was diagnosed with lung cancer late last year. The doctors treated him with a radical regiment of chemotherapy & radiation in hopes of making his prognosis better. The treatment seemed to help and the masses showed signs of diminishing. He was doing good and stayed active and positive through all of it. He didn't have any of the regular side effects associated with the treatments and we were excited and thankful for the progress he made.
A couple months ago, after having some vision and memory issues, his doctors suggested doing a brain scan. At that time they discovered that the cancer had spread to his brain. They started another round of radiation. During this time, his body seemed to be fighting against the treatment and has had many visits to the hospital. He had an appointment with his doctor yesterday and we were advised that the prognosis is not good.
The doctors at this point have given him 6-8 weeks. His body is shutting down and he is becoming very week. They are having a hospital bed moved in and are going to do whatever is necessary to keep him comfortable.
Please be praying that God's will be done in his life and that we have peace & strength to make it through this time. Also be praying that we are certain without a shadow of a doubt that he has accepted Christ into his heart and will spend eternity in heaven.
Thank you for your prayers, support, words of encouragement and most importantly your love.
