The game last night was amazing...the Predators beat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-0. The kids were so excited. They each got a Predators bike helmet as part of a promotion that was happening at the game. Our seats were on the upper level which was great because you can see everything that is going on. The Predators dominated the game and had scored 4 points in the first period. The second period was a dry period with only 2 shots on goal (meaning the number of times a Predator attempted to score) for the Predators. The end of the game is where all the excitement happened. Not only do we get a free taco from Taco Bell when the Predators score 5 or more goals but Scott Hartnell (#17 on the Predators) scored his first hat trick (3 points by one player) with only 1:25 left in the game. The celebration was exciting to watch...whenever a player gets a hat trick (which can be rare), fans throw hats onto the ice. Play is obviously stopped while they pick up all the hats. Declan loved watching this and thought it was very cool that we were there for this exciting piece of history. Teah enjoyed cheering the most....go figure! She sat on Chris' lap a lot and would start clapping at any given moment - good or bad. Liam had a good time as well but wasn't to thrilled with the noise level. He had his fingers in his ears on and off throughout the night.

It was a hockey weekend for us. Declan played his game today. They played a great game but unfortunately lost 6 to 4. Declan had an assist in the third period which he was very excited about. They always get so close and just can't pull it out in the end. The great thing is that Declan is not discouraged. I thought after having an undefeated season last year that losing games this year would upset him but he is a trooper. He is getting very fast and has been getting lots of ice time.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Congratulations to any Steelers fans for a Super Bowl win and congratulations to the Seahawks for making it to the Super Bowl for the first time.
